Maha Sē Vandana

A Journey of Reverence, Devotion, and Serenity

31 July 2026

With profound devotion and gratitude, Dheerana Youth Forum is honoured to announce its first major Religious & Cultural Development initiative, Maha Sē Vandana.

Organised under the guidance of Kotte Sri Naga Viharaya, this special programme is dedicated to paying homage to the sacred Sri Swarnamali Maha Chaithya in Anuradhapura—one of the most revered Buddhist monuments in Sri Lanka and a timeless symbol of faith, peace, and the Buddha Sāsana.

As part of this meritorious programme, participants will engage in a series of religious observances, including a Sambuddha Pūjā with the traditional Thirty-Two Delicacies and Eight Beverages, the offering of a Kanchuka to the Sacred Stupa, and a Dhamma Sermon conducted at the Maha Sē Maluwa. These acts of devotion are intended to cultivate gratitude, mindfulness, and spiritual reflection while creating an opportunity for young people and devotees to unite in wholesome merit.

Beyond a single day's programme, Maha Sē Vandana represents the beginning of a long-term tradition. It is envisioned as the annual flagship programme of the Religious & Cultural Development pillar of Dheerana Youth Forum, reflecting our commitment to preserving Buddhist heritage while inspiring the younger generation to embrace values of compassion, discipline, and selfless service.

We warmly invite all devotees, well-wishers, and members of the community to join us on this sacred journey and share in the blessings of this noble offering.

May the merits of this wholesome undertaking bring peace, happiness, and prosperity to all beings.
